What is UKSSSC Exams?

The UKSSSC is a recruitment examination for civil services in India. It tests the candidate’s knowledge in Hindi, English and Mathematics. The results of the examination are used to recruit candidates into various Indian civil service jobs such as police officer, jailer, customs inspector and forest guard among many others.The question paper consists of 100 questions for each subject with 50 questions being asked from each section – 50 questions from Hindi followed by 50 from Maths and finally 50 from English Language. To qualify for this exam one has to be at least 18 years old with a bachelor degree or equivalent qualification in any discipline except Law which requires a law degree or an equivalent qualification in any required.

The UKSSSC exams are the exams conducted by the Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission for recruitment of posts in various departments and organizations. The Commission is responsible for conducting examinations to hire talented people as well as even those who do not have any experience. What is the eligibility for Uksssc?

Uksssc is a prestigious exam for those who want to be an government employee in Uttarakhand.The eligibility criteria for Uksssc are as follows:

  • Age limit: 21 years on 01st January of the year of examination, not more than 42 years of age on 1st July of that year
  • Educational qualification: Graduate from any recognized university. Candidates will have studied English at graduation level or higher and must have passed all subjects with minimum grades as specified by the examining body.

On 10th November 1949, the then Governor of Uttar Pradesh appointed a special committee to look into the grievances and demands made by members of Uttarakhand. This was followed by an order from the President on 31st October 1950 for formation of a separate service commission for Uttarakhand. The first meeting of this service commission took place at Nainital on 4th December 1950 and its headquarters moved to Dehradun in 1954. It was renamed as Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UKSSSC) in 2008.
